FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Entry requirements to come?
    You need: - Valid passport for at least 6 months counting from entry date - Volunteer visa (valid for a max. duration of 3 months): cost: 50 USD - Obtain a invitation letter from us
  • Are there any requirements to join the project
    You do not need to be qualifified or have studied conservation related topics to join the project. To join the project you need to be a minimum of 18 years old, and basic english is required. Please be aware we are in a rural area, with high and sometimes humid temperatures
  • How much to book a Vacation with a Cause?
    The price for Vacation with a cause depends on length of stay. We also provide discounts for students and for people unemployed Please contact us for further information
  • What does the cost cover?
    The price covers: - Pick up and transport from and to Kilimanjaro International Airport (4 hours each way to and from project location), - Project related transport - Accomodation in Safari-tents, - 3 local meals a day, - Satelite internet, - Electricity, - Water - Local SIM card - Project-T-Shirt
  • What`s not included in the costs?
    Not included are: - Flights - Health Insurance - Visa - Personal spending money for snacks and alcohol (examples) - Additional trips/ Safaris to surrounding National Parks such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro-crater, Tarangire and Manyara - Phone credit for local calls or internet usage outsite of camp
  • Why become a member?
    In return for becoming a member, you will recieve a free UNITED TANSANIA T-shirt, quarterly newsletters, and the frist to know about exciting new developments for the project. This is for people who would like to be regularly updated on the projects progress, understand more about project desicion making and design and pass on their knowledge or give advice. The fee for becoming a member is 50 Euro per year.
  • Are there any required vaccinations for the project participation?
    We would like to ask you to obtain: - Rabies vaccination before you come (3 doses given over a duration of 28 days)
  • What can I do in my free time?
    We do offer safari-trips to National Parks such as: - Serengeti - Ngorongoro crater - Tarangire - Manyara - Mkomazi - other locations such as Lake Natron - Climbing Mto. Meru or Kilimanjaro or: - A variety of activities around Lake Eyasi
